Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on 13 December 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for more than 20 years. Swift's stories of romantic love in the midst of heartbreak and young love are gaining her acclaim throughout the 21st century. Swift was a fan of music since a young stage of her life. Swift quickly rose up the ranks, beginning by playing roles in the theater for children before singing in front of an audience of thousands. Swift was just 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. In the following year Swift began to write songs, and also began playing guitar. Swift was inspired by artists from the country genre, such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks to come up with original songs that reflected the loneliness she experienced at the age 13. Swift's family relocated into Tennessee from Pennsylvania at the age of 13so she could be able to spend longer pursuing the country music label in Nashville.
